Maple Bourbon Apple Cider is a fantastic fall and holiday cocktail. Keep it warm in your slow cooker or serve it on ice. This simple drink is made with apple cider, bourbon whiskey, maple syrup, and lemon juice.

    Why this recipe works:

If you love easy to make cocktail recipes, you'll love this tasty treat!

    • Maple bourbon cider only takes a few minutes to make.
    • The recipe makes enough for two cocktails but can easily be scaled to serve a crowd.
    • I think a warm apple whiskey cocktail tastes best when served warm, however you can also serve it over ice.
    • There is a perfect balance between sweet and tart.

    Here's how to make it:

    To serve warm:

Add the apple cider, bourbon whiskey, maple syrup, and lemon juice to a saucepot and heat over low heat. Alternatively, you can add all of the ingredients to a crockpot and heat on low until heated through, then switch to the warm setting.

    To serve cold:

Add all ingredients to a pitcher and stir or mix with ice using a cocktail shaker. Serve over ice.

    Recipe tips:

    • Any kind of apple cider will work. I recommend unfiltered cider. My preference is for Trader Joe's Honeycrisp or Pink Lady Unfiltered Apple Cider.
    • Any kind of bourbon whiskey will work as well. It's just a matter of preference.
    • I prefer freshly squeezed lemon juice but you can use bottled.
    • Only use real maple syrup.
    • Once all of the ingredients have been added, taste and adjust to taste, if desired.

I just tried this hoping to use for Thanksgiving - it is great! I am wondering what it would taste like if you add red hots/cinnamon candy to it? My mom use to add those to warm drinks...was yummy.
