This time of year is all about food, fun, and crazy good cocktails! You will love making this Cranberry Screwdriver not only for yourself, but for your guests. Who doesn’t love an easy drink recipe? No one. That’s who!
Why I think Deep Eddy Vodka is the best cranberry vodka:
It’s been awhile since I’ve made a cocktail. Too long, if you ask me. I had this wonderful Deep Eddy Cranberry Vodka sitting in my cabinet far too long and it was just begging me to drink it. It really was. This particular vodka is made from real New England cranberries and is all-natural handcrafted vodka from Austin, TX. Next to Portland, OR, the best place in this country you can go for amazing food and spirits would have to be Austin.
What is a screwdriver drink?
A screwdriver is basically orange juice and vodka mixed together. The amount of vodka and orange juice used can be completely based on preference. It is often served over ice.
I love a tasty screwdriver, so I thought I should make a festive screwdriver. What could be more festive than cranberries.
This cranberry vodka and orange juice cocktail is pretty much your standard screwdriver, but this screwdriver recipe was way better than a boring old plain screwdriver.
Do you shake or stir vodka and orange juice?
You can shake this Deep Eddy Vodka cocktail with ice to really mix it well and get it ice cold, but I’m lazy. I usually don’t want to clean an extra dish if I don’t have to, so I just added the cranberry vodka, orange juice, and Grand Marnier to the glass.
How to make a Cranberry Screwdriver Drink:
Start with a couple ounces of the cranberry vodka and top it off with some fresh squeezed orange juice. I happened to have some tasty cara cara oranges and juicing two of them gave me exactly the amount I needed.
A little splash of Grand Marnier really finishes this lip smacking drink off.
Not only is it quite tasty, but it packs a great punch and its pretty. How can you go wrong?
Is fresh squeezed or store bought orange juice best with vodka?
You can use either fresh squeezed orange juice or store bought orange juice when making cocktails. Again, it’s totally a matter of preference.
- 2 ounces cranberry vodka
- 4 ounces freshly squeezed orange juice I used cara cara
- splash of Grand Marnier
- Combine all ingredients in a shaker or just combine over ice in glass and stir. Enjoy!
