Krissy’s Notes

When I say this cocktail couldn’t be easier, I mean it. Three ingredients, all chilled, poured together, and you’ve got one of the best fall prosecco cocktails you’ll ever make. The crisp apple cider gives it natural sweetness, the spiced rum adds warmth, and the Prosecco finishes everything with a festive sparkle.

I love serving this during Thanksgiving or Christmas, but it’s equally great for fall happy hours or casual get-togethers. If you liked my Apple Cider Sangria or Apple Cider Bourbon Cocktail, this one is right up your alley.

What You’ll Need To Make It

The complete recipe is in the card below, but here’s what makes this cocktail shine:

Spiced rum: Adds a cozy depth of flavor and balances the sweetness of the cider.
Apple cider: Use unfiltered cider (Honeycrisp or fresh-pressed) for the best taste.
Prosecco: Any dry or semi-dry Prosecco works well. Chill it before serving. I also use this when I make my Summer Lavender Prosecco during the warmer months.

Optional garnish: A cinnamon stick or thin apple slice makes it look as good as it tastes.

How to Make Spiced Apple Prosecco

Full instructions are in the recipe card below, but here’s the quick summary:

  1. Combine the base. Pour chilled spiced rum and apple cider into a glass.
  2. Add the bubbles. Top with Prosecco.
  3. Garnish and serve. Add an apple slice or cinnamon stick if you want to make it extra festive.

That’s it. No shaking, no muddling, no fuss.

Make Ahead and Storage

This drink is best made fresh, but you can mix the spiced rum and cider in advance and chill it for up to 24 hours. Add the Prosecco just before serving so it stays bubbly.

If you’re serving a crowd, multiply the ingredients and mix in a large pitcher or punch bowl. Keep the Prosecco on the side for guests to top off their glasses.

Learn From Me

After making this apple prosecco cocktail countless times, here’s what I’ve learned:

  • Balance matters. If you prefer a sweeter cocktail, use a sweeter cider; for a drier drink, choose brut Prosecco.
  • Use really cold ingredients. The colder everything is, the better the bubbles hold.
  • Don’t skip the garnish. A cinnamon stick or apple slice makes it look and smell amazing.

Frequently Asked Questions

This recipe couldn’t be easier, but here are a few questions I’ve gotten.

Can I use apple juice instead of cider?

Yes. Apple juice works fine, especially unfiltered or cold-pressed varieties, but cider gives a deeper flavor.

Can I make it non-alcoholic?

Absolutely. Replace the rum with spiced apple syrup and use sparkling apple cider instead of Prosecco.

Can this be served warm?

I wouldn’t recommend it because carbonation and heat don’t mix well. But you can warm the cider and rum together for a cozy mocktail, then skip the bubbles. If you’re looking for a warm fall drink, you’re better off making Slow Cooker Berry Cider or a Slow Cooker Hot Toddy.

I love a prosecco drink! I made this with apple juice instead of cider, as that’s what I had, but it tasted great!

    1. You sure can. Just multiply the ingredients to create the volume you want and don’t add the prosecco until you’re ready to serve.
