If you’ve never blended strawberries and basil into a dressing, you’re in for a treat.
This strawberry vinaigrette is bright, fresh, and full of flavor, and it’s ready in under 5 minutes.

Why You’ll Love This Strawberry Vinaigrette
This is one of those recipes that makes you wonder why you ever bought bottled dressing.
It’s simple, made from real ingredients, and so flavorful that even a basic green salad feels elevated.
I’ve made it many times for summer dinners, and every time I do, someone asks for the recipe.
Key Ingredients That Make It Work
This vinaigrette is all about fresh flavors. Here’s what makes it shine:
- Strawberries – Use ripe, sweet strawberries for the best flavor. They blend into a naturally thick and vibrant base.
- Fresh Basil – This herb adds an unexpected layer of flavor that pairs beautifully with the berries.
- Balsamic Vinegar + Lemon Juice – These give the dressing its bright tang and balance the sweetness.
- Olive Oil – Use a good one. With so few ingredients, quality matters here.

How to Make Strawberry Basil Vinaigrette
Just toss everything into a blender and blend until smooth. That’s it.
The dressing stays nicely emulsified, even after sitting in the fridge for a few days.
Serving Ideas
This dressing, along with my Blueberry Vinaigrette, is perfect on a green salad with:
- Fresh strawberries
- Herbed goat cheese
- Candied pecans
- Shallots or red onions
You can also drizzle it over grilled chicken, spoon it onto grain bowls, or even serve it alongside a cheese board as a bright, tangy dip.
Storage
Store in a jar with a lid in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Give it a quick shake or stir before using, although it typically stays well mixed.

Love this recipe! We just went strawberry picking so I had quite a hull of strawberries I needed to figure out what to do with. This could not have been more perfect. I also used fresh lemon basil from my garden, omg YUM!
This is such a great recipe! We used some defrosted frozen strawberries and it was wonderful.
I LOVED this recipe but I only needed enough for a small salad. How long does this dressing last in the fridge?
This one won’t last as long as other dressings. I would use within a day or two.
One of my favourite dressings. It’s really good with halloumi.
What a delicious looking salad dressing. I love that you have gone for something quite unique with great flavours too. Can’t wait to try it next time I am having a BBQ, cheers!
