This Peach Cobbler is not only insanely delicious, but it is super easy to make. Enjoy fresh peaches covered in a crunchy sweet buttery cobbler topping. Only a few simple ingredients are needed to make this delicious dessert recipe. Bonus: If fresh peaches are not in season, you can easily use canned or frozen peaches.
Why this recipe is so great:
- So easy. This will not only be be your favorite go-to cobbler recipe, but it’s so easy to make, you will actually commit it to memory. Even the quantities are easy values to remember.
- Versatile. Not only can this peach cobbler be made with fresh, frozen, or canned peaches, but you can swap out the peaches for any other kind of fruit. Apples, berries, or combinations of different fruits all work fantastic.
Ingredients needed:
Exact quantities are listed in the recipe card below, but here is a summary.
- Peaches: Fresh, frozen, or canned
- Lemon juice
- All-purpose flour
- Granulated sugar
- Butter
- Egg
How to prepare the cobbler:
Detailed step by step instructions are listed in the recipe card below, but here is a summary.
- Prepare peaches: If using fresh, peel and slice. If using frozen, thaw. If using canned, drain.
- Toss with lemon juice: Add peaches to baking dish and gently toss with lemon juice to coat.
- Prepare topping: Combine egg, flour, and sugar until the mixture is crumbly.
Bake the peach cobbler:
Now that all the ingredients are ready, you can assemble the cobbler and bake it in the oven.
- Add topping: Cover the peaches with all of the crumbly topping mixture.
- Top with butter: Thinly slice the butter and cover the topping mixture.
- Bake: Place peach cobbler in preheated oven and bake until golden brown.
Recipe tips for perfect results:
- Determine the type of peaches you will use:
- Fresh: Select ripe peaches that are fragrant and slightly soft to the touch but still firm. Cling-free will allow the fruit to easily separate from the pit. If the skin doesn’t easily peel away when scored, peel with a knife or peeler. Alternatively, blanch in boiling water and then transfer to ice bath so the skin will easily peel.
- Canned: Low sugar canned peaches recommended. Drain prior to using.
- Frozen: Place in baking dish and allow to fully thaw before adding topping and baking.
- Peach cobbler variations: Make peach blueberry cobbler by adding a few handfuls of blueberries. Blackberries or raspberries taste great with peach too. If you have a vanilla bean, scrape out the seeds and mix them in with the peaches. A splash of vanilla or lemon zest in the crumb topping always tastes great.
- Storage: Any leftovers can be stored in an air tight container in the refrigerator.
- Serving suggestions: Serve warm or cold. Also tastes great with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

Hello,
Do you use real butter or the tub butter?
Thank you,
Peggy
always real butter. -Krissy
Lol I forgot the lemon juice so we will see how this turns out!
The lemon just keeps the peaches from browning too much and gives it the slightest tart flavor to balance out the sweet, but it totally works w/o lemon too. Thanks for trying my recipe! Krissy
Made this yesterday for BBQ. I doubled the
recipe but had my doubts. How could something
this easy be good? Surprise! Everyoneโs first bite
was a surprise! โDang this is Good! Love the
crunchy bits!!โ Everyone wanted the recipe and
I could tell them the recipe because seriously! Itโs
that easy!
Glad everyone liked it! Thank you for such a thoughtful comment.
We were going out of town so I asked people to take leftovers which they were thrilled to do. A 9×13 pan was too much for 6 people but I saved a bit for me. It was still good with nice crunch next day and I was sorry we didnโt save more. Iโll be freezing peaches so I can make again in Oct when my kids visit. Iโve used frozen in the past and know it works well. Thanks!!
