Why this recipe works:

This is the kind of coffee that makes you say “oh yeaaaah” after each sip.

This recipe can be made differently for each person. For example, when I’m making this for my husband, I may as well call this drink “Irish Whiskey with a splash of coffee” whereas I’m a big whiskey wimp so my drink could be called “sweetened coffee with a teeny splash of whiskey.

This is a quick and easy cocktail recipe that is perfect for St. Patrick’s Day!

Here’s how to make it:

  1. You start off by adding a little brown sugar to your glass or cup. I used lumps of sugar because they make me happy, but you don’t have to get that fancy. brown sugar cubes
  2. Add some hot strong coffee to the sugar and stir to combine. Stir in some whiskey and you’ve got one boozy start to your morning. Hot black coffee in glass with sugar cubes on the side
  3. Sure, you can put plain whipped cream on top, but after you’ve mixed in some Irish Cream, you’ll be wondering if you can ever go back to plain whipped cream again. Coffee and whiskey topped with whipped cream and irish cream

Quick tips:

  • The ratio of the ingredients is completely up to how you like it. You can add as little or as much of the coffee, whiskey, Irish cream, whipped cream, and sugar as you like. Everyone likes their coffee in their own way!
  • This is an easy recipe to make for a crowd. Just keep your pot of coffee hot in a carafe and set out a batch of the Irish Cream whipped cream.

  1. 5 stars
I’m not a big coffee drinker BUT I love me some good Irish Coffee. It’s dangerous cause you can’t taste the alcohol. Love!

  2. You went as far as asking to leave the site if using Coolwhip, but you then use ready made Irish cream? It is best to make your own Irish cream as well. Buying Baileys to use a teaspoon makes one pricey cup of coffee. Just saying…
