If you've never enjoyed Baked Grapefruit, you're in for a real treat. Follow this simple method and enjoy grapefruit more than you ever thought you could.
Set broiler to high. Slice 1 grapefruit in half and use a paring knife to separate the pieces for easy scooping. Spread 2 tablespoons brown sugar (1 tablespoon each half) on the grapefruit. Place fruit in a baking dish that will collect any excess juices that spill over.
Broil until sugar melts, about 5 minutes. Serve warm.

Quick tips for perfect results:
The recipe is for one grapefruit but you can easily make this recipe for a crowd. It is a fantastic addition to any brunch.
The brown sugar is optional. Although I used to cover my grapefruit with a disgusting amount of sugar when I was a kid, our entire family eats it plain now. You can certainly broil the plain grapefruit and it will still be delicious. The brown sugar just makes it a treat.
You may need to adjust the height of your oven rack to ensure the grapefruit gets heated through without burning the brown sugar on top.
You can use granulated sugar instead of brown sugar, but I found the brown sugar adds more of a rich caramel flavor.
