This tropical green smoothie is a creamy blend of pineapple, orange, banana and coconut. It is a super healthy and filling treat that your family will love.
1cupspinach(or one large handful dark leafy vegetables)*
1/4fresh whole pineapplecore and skin removed (about 1 cup)
1peeled orange
1bananaripe = sweet
1/2cuplite coconut milk
2tablespoonsunsweetened coconut flakes
2tablespoonsflax meal
Instructions
In a high power blender, arrange leafy greens such that there is available vertical space from top to bottom for the fruit.
Add the pineapple, orange and banana, pushing down to the bottom of the blender so that the blade makes contact with them.
Add coconut milk, coconut flakes and flax meal.
Add 1 cup of ice.
Cover and blend until smooth.
Notes
* For my greens, I use anything from pre-packaged pre-washed baby spinach or baby salad green blends to things like kale, chard or beet greens (stems removed). I'm not a fan of romaine lettuce in my smoothies, but that's personal preference. This particular smoothie had spinach and beet greens and when I say a large handful, I shove in as much as I can fit in one hand.
