Instructions
Make simple syrup by heating equal amounts of granulated sugar and water (I used 1/4 cup of each) in a small pot over low heat. As soon as the sugar has dissolved, remove from heat. Store in air tight container in the refrigerator. Make as little or as much as you want. It will last at least a few weeks.
Using a very large mug, add ice cubes and all the margarita ingredients: tequila, lime juice, simple syrup, and orange liqueur.
Pour the beer into the glass and submerge the top of the beer in the liquid. It won't overflow if you do it right.

Notes
A few tips when making this Beer Margarita:
Freeze your mug for at least an hour prior to serving. This will keep your drink nice and frosty cold.
Use large ice cubes! Instead of the ice cubes my refrigerator makes, when I make cocktails I use extra large ice cubes that I freeze in these silicon ice cube molds. Why? The larger the cube, the slower it melts.
Want to make it for a crowd? Just be sure you have enough mugs. You can easily make up a large pitcher of margarita and have a bunch of ice cold beers ready to go!
