If you’re looking for a tasty quick breakfast that will mentally transport you to a tropical beach, this MANGO PINEAPPLE SMOOTHIE will do the trick!

Why this recipe works:

Here in the Pacific Northwest, we love our local produce, however the growing season is rather short. So, during the months when absolutely nothing grows around these parts, I use frozen fruit.

Right about this time of year, I also start to crave warm tropical beaches. That’s why I really love this smoothie. The combination of these tropical flavors is not only delicious, but they allow me to take a five minute mental journey to a warm beach near the equator.

As with any smoothie recipe, you can add or substitute any of the ingredients to make it different every time (suggestions below).

The flavor combination of pineapple, mango, and banana is fantastic.

Here’s how to make it:

You simply just need to add everything to the blender and blend until smooth. That’s it.

Variations and quick tips:

  • Instead of water, try using coconut water, lite coconut milk, oat milk, or some kind of nut milk.
  • I do like to add some vanilla protein powder so that it keeps me full longer, but that part is totally optional. Other options to add protein could also be hemp seed, flax meal, or some kind of nut butter.
  • Since this recipe uses frozen fruit, no additional ice is needed to make it cold. If your blender has a difficult time with frozen fruit, let it thaw a bit on the counter or defrost partially in the microwave.
  • I always like to add fresh or frozen greens to my smoothie for an added boost of vitamins and fiber. The fruit flavor often masks the flavor of the added greens. Spinach and kale are my favorties.
  • Add some toasted coconut for crunch. YUM!

This is so delicious. I recommend including the protein powder too to keep it more filling. Thanks for sharing!

You had me at a tropical beach. This mango pineapple smoothie is a great way to start any morning even if it is not the beach.
