I love starting my day off with a smoothie. Unfortunately, its a habit I tend to loose in the fall and don’t get back into until the first of the year. My typical smoothie involves frozen fruit and a handful of fresh greens so that I can sneak in a few servings of fruits & veggies that I wouldn’t otherwise eat. Some of my favorites are my not so green smoothie, blueberry avocado smoothie, tropical green smoothie, peaches & cream smoothie, Ginger Berry Smoothie, and my vegan pumpkin oat smoothie. If I want my smoothie to act as a meal replacement, I add a scoop of protein powder. Smoothies make me feel good and they give me a ton of energy. I really like to mix it up, though, in terms of the different smoothies I enjoy. My kids have gotten to the point where they actually beg for me to put a smoothie (and a bendy straw) in their thermos so they can take it in their school lunch. I love packing it for them because I know that little baggie of carrots gets tossed in the garbage sometimes, but that smoothie is always consumed.
