'Tis the season when all friends and family come together to celebrate the holidays and there's no better way than with 20 of My Favorite Holiday Recipes.

The holidays are a time for catching up with loved ones, sledding, wrapping gifts, making crafts, and spending an obscene amount of time in the kitchen. I actually prefer to cook most during the summer when the fresh produce is abundant, but there’s something magical about warming the kitchen with your oven and seeing a poof of flour fly through the air as you attempt to make that fifth batch of cookies. We through all of our healthy judgement out the window, knowing we can once again redeem ourselves at the gym in January. Oh, how I loathe how crowded the gym gets in January. I’ve actually been really good these past few months with my sugar intake, but I’m about to totally let loose and enjoy myself all the way through January 1st like I do every year at this time. I think you should too!

Soon, we will be spending hours in the kitchen cooking recipes for the months of holidays, but its not too late to still enjoy The Best Recipes of Summer!

Summer is a funny time for me. I absolutely love the abundance of fresh produce. One of my most favorite activities in the world is strolling through the farmers market.  Just yesterday I must have spent over $200 just on produce! But, as much as I love those summer flavors, I usually want to be out playing in the sunshine rather than cooking.  Its sort of a catch 22.  My most favorite time to cook is the fall because the days start to get shorter and cooler, the kids are busy with school and soccer, and there’s nothing like a good holiday to motivate you in the kitchen. Well, your kids might be back in school already, but summer ain’t over yet, so take advantage of the abundance of glorious summer produce and make these recipes!

Soon, we will be spending hours in the kitchen cooking recipes for the months of holidays, but its not too late to still enjoy The Best Recipes of Summer!

More than 25 Recipes Perfect for the Fourth of July

From red, white, and blue treats to the best summer BBQ food, I'm sharing More than 25 Recipes Perfect for the Fourth of July.

Isn’t the 4th of July great? To me, its not only a time to celebrate this great country of ours, but its also a time to be outside enjoying fireworks as well as good food with friends and family. Its a time for celebration and fun.  I grew up in California and because of potential fire damage, we were not allowed to even play with sparklers. If you didn’t get out to watch the city’s fire works display, you missed out on all the pyrotechnics. Not that I’m in Western Oregon, where its so green that a fire from personal fireworks is highly unlikely, we actually get to enjoy our own small fireworks right in front of our house without having to mess with traffic to see a big show. Neighbors will typically pool their money together and create a big block party that goes well past dark. Considering that we’re normally in bed before 9pm every night, it tends to be an evening where we expect to get a pretty poor night’s rest. But the fun and excitement on the kids’ faces make it all worth it. So celebrate our country, eat good food, and watch the fireworks fly!  Happy Independence Day!

The best way to start the official start of summer is with food, of course! I've got More Than 25 Recipes Perfect for Memorial Day you will surely love.

Memorial has great meaning for so many different reasons, but today I’m going to talk purely about the food and the summer celebrations.  Just like different holidays like Christmas and Easter have many deeper meanings, most of us can’t help but feel nostalgic about the annual celebrations that pair with these annual holidays. First and foremost, Memorial Day is a time forremembering the people who died while serving in the country’s armed forces. But in addition to that, Memorial Day represents the last long weekend before summer vacation starts. It represents BBQs and picnic salads and sunblock. Some of my favorite recipes to kick off the summer are my Carolina BBQ Sauce, Strawberry Lemonade Whiskey Sour, and my picnic pasta salad.  Of course, you’ll find hundreds of summertime recipes on my site, so feel free to look around!  I hope you enjoy all of the amazing recipes below.

10 Recipe’s Perfect for Mother’s Day

One day a year is devoted to celebrating the most important women in our lives, so why not show your appreciation with 10 Recipe's Perfect for Mother's Day?

I’ve reached a superb milestone in my time as a mom. Wanna know what that is? My children now know how to make and serve me breakfast in bed. Wanna know the best part? They love doing it. Last week I had a birthday and turned, ahem, twenty four (let’s all just pretend, mmmm kay?). I was at a food bloggers conference on my actual birthday that went from 7:30am until 9pm and I ate enough food to have lasted me three days. After all of the non-stop eating, socializing, and learning, I was wiped out. Everyone who knows me knows that I am always up before everyone else. Since I work full time and have mom duties, the only time I have to devote to my blog is before everyone else wakes up. But on the morning after my birthday, I was sound asleep until the unprecedented time of 6:45am at which time my two adorable and loving kids walked in my room carrying hot coffee, oatmeal, and sliced strawberries and bananas with whipped cream on top. They did it all by themselves and I can honestly say it was probably the best damn birthday gift I have ever received in my life. And to top it all off, they went off and played quietly without any fighting and I got to be 100% lazy in my bed while watching Meet the Press.

The point of my story is to remind all of you that Mother’s Day doesn’t have to be some big ordeal. Make mom breakfast in bed (or if you’re a mom reading this – train your family to make you breakfast in bed) and it will be the best Mother’s Day ever. In addition to the 10 amazing recipes below, I would also recommend some of my favorites including lemon blueberry buttermilk pancakes, sausage tater tot breakfast casserole, or some good old fashioned banana nut muffins.

From dark beer to green food, get your Irish on and make some of these 10 Best St. Patrick's Day Recipes.

When I head to Southern California to visit friends and family, one of my favorite restaurants in Newport Beach is Muldoon’s Irish Pub. I crave that warm Irish Soda bread with melted butter. I dream about it, in fact. I thought I could only get something that delicious when I visited, until I figured out how to make it on my own and I would argue that mine was even better! I’m not a beer drinker, and am especially not a dark beer drinker, but this time of year I love to break out the Guinness and use it in my cooking. Did you know stout + chocolate is amazing? I used it in my Guinness Chocolate Cake as well as in a chocolate sauce recipe and a Guinness ice cream float, if you can believe it.  My husband, however, does love all kinds of beer so last year I served him up this Black Velvet. Cooking with beer makes most recipes better, and if you’re looking for something great to make this St. Patrick’s day, you might want to try my Guinness steak or Irish cheddar beer bread.  Of course, one can never go wrong with a delicious Shepherd’s Pie. If all of those recipes didn’t motivate you to make something fun for St. Patrick’s day, I’ve got more motivation for you below with ten more delicious recipes that are sure to please!

After enjoying non-stop treats throughout the entire holiday season, I look forward to starting the new year out right with delicious inspiration like these 25+ Healthy New Year Recipes.

I don’t know about you, but starting around mid-December each year, I start wrapping my head around the fact that my jeans feel tighter in the spots they should not be tight. I allow myself to eat want I want during the holidays because, well, I love food. And we all know the holidays are about family, friends, and food. Fortunately, I’ve been keeping up my exercise routine. I’d really hate to think about how I wouldn’t even be able to fit into my fat jeans had I not been exercising. I know now that the changes I need to make in the New Year revolve around my eating habits. I just thank God that Eggnog Lattes will no longer be offered. So, if you’re anything like me, should should enjoy this recipe round-up of mouth watering recipes that will help kick start your healthy New Year!
