This IPA Mimosa is a refreshing and manly drink made from an ice cold IPA and freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, perfect for a tasty game day cocktail.
Quick and easy is what you want? Well, my friends, it doesn’t get much easier than cracking open an ice cold can of a hoppy and citrus-y IPA beer, squeezing the juice out of a pink grapefruit with your bare hands, and then throwing it down the hatch. You know I’m not a huge fan of beer. The darker and more bitter, the harder it is for me to drink. I did, however, tolerate this drink quite well. My husband, on the other hand, who likes all kinds of booze, thought this drink was fantastic. He said the grapefruit juice made it totally refreshing and the bitter from the beer paired perfectly with the bitter from the grapefruit. I picked this particular IPA out because Trader Joe’s said it was their most popular selling beer and since I know nothing about beer, I figured I would trust them. They’ve never steered me in the wrong direction before. Second, it was brewed in Oregon. Aren’t all good beers? This state is becoming, if it isn’t yet already, the mecca of awesome microbrews. Plus, I always support local. So do yourself a solid and mix some grapefruit juice in with your IPA and enjoy the magic of this wonderful new cocktail.
