Make a grown up boozy dessert drink this St. Patrick’s Day and enjoy a delicious Chocolate Guinness Float, made with homemade ice cream & chocolate sauce.
Root beer floats are one of my favorite desserts. This is not a root beer float.
Root beer is sweet. Stout beer is not. But – if you combine that dark, bitter, bubbly beer with a creamy vanilla bean ice cream and homemade chocolate Guinness sauce? You create one wonderfully delicious dessert drink, of the adult variety.
I don’t know why, but Guinness and chocolate seem like they were just made to go together. Its my new favorite pairing. You know I’m not a fan of drinking beer, especially dark beers, but when you make it into a chocolately float? Yeah baby. Now we’re talking.
Isn’t it pretty? And, since we’re going with a St. Patrick’s Day theme given that Guinness is my favorite Irish import, I even changed the color of my yellow straw to green in photoshop for the sake of a prettier picture. You like?

- You don't really need instructions, do you?
- Put however much ice cream your heart desires in a glass.
