Planning a party for the big game? I've got the best Superbowl Party Menu Plan, complete with appetizers, drinks, main dishes, and drinks!

I talk about game day food all the time on my blog. Do I ever watch football?  Nope. Not ever, you ask? Nope. Not interested. There are two things I absolutely love about having football on the tv, however.  First is the food (so obvious, right?). What’s not to love about cheese, barbecue, dips, and drinks?  Nothing.  I love every single thing about game day food. I beg you have to know what the second thing I love about having football on tv, right?  Well, its the really cool overhead shots and the fact that they move that line on the ground with each play. Or each down.  Whatever.  I don’t know how it works.  It just blows my mind that they can make that line move under their feet.  I know its digital, but it sure looks real.

I have no idea who’s playing in this year’s superbowl.  I don’t know if its even been determined yet. The only thing I know is that good food and football watching go hand in hand.  Below you’ll find recipe ideas that will make any game day watching experience grand. Enjoy!

Healthy Recipe Ideas

As we near the end of the holiday season full of treats, we could all use some Healthy Recipe Ideas to start the new year off right!
As we near the end of the holiday season full of treats, we could all use some Healthy Recipe Ideas to start the new year off right!
Surprisingly, I did pretty well this year. That is, opposed to every single holiday season of my life.  Typically, we host Thanksgiving which means I get to enjoy daily leftovers for a solid week, and boy do I enjoy those leftovers. This year, we went to a friend’s house which was awesome, but I didn’t partake in leftover consumption (which is probably a good thing). Second, even though I made an abundant amount of holiday treats, I really didn’t eat that many.  I cut back on my added sugar intake back in July after my sister made some very direct comments about the size of my thighs, and it actually paid off!  I’ve been able to shed a good ten pounds since then and my sugar cravings have decreased. So, instead of throwing it all out the window during the holidays and asking for forgiveness in January, I’ve been a good girl. That doesn’t mean that I won’t join everyone else and eat healthy in January, and all of these recipes look so amazing!
Here’s to a healthy and happy YOU in 2017!!!

'Tis the season when all friends and family come together to celebrate the holidays and there's no better way than with 20 of My Favorite Holiday Recipes.

The holidays are a time for catching up with loved ones, sledding, wrapping gifts, making crafts, and spending an obscene amount of time in the kitchen. I actually prefer to cook most during the summer when the fresh produce is abundant, but there’s something magical about warming the kitchen with your oven and seeing a poof of flour fly through the air as you attempt to make that fifth batch of cookies. We through all of our healthy judgement out the window, knowing we can once again redeem ourselves at the gym in January. Oh, how I loathe how crowded the gym gets in January. I’ve actually been really good these past few months with my sugar intake, but I’m about to totally let loose and enjoy myself all the way through January 1st like I do every year at this time. I think you should too!

Perfect Fall Recipes

From apples to pumpkins to dark leafy greens, fall is everyone's favorite time to cook, so I'm sharing more than 20 Perfect Fall Recipes!

We all do it. What’s that, you ask? We all wait for the time of year when everything is pumpkin spice. Don’t try to deny it. Even if you think things like pumpkin spice breakfast sausage and pumpkin spice pasta sounds nauseating (no argument there), I dare you to argue with the fact that by the time pumpkin spice completely dominates everything around us, we’re ready for the cold weather, the holidays, and all of the cooking that goes along with it. We may not all like to eat all pumpkin, all the time, but fall is such an extraordinary time to breakout the crockpot, let those soups, stews, and chilis simmer, create freezer meals and casseroles, and make goodies with pumpkin.  I’ve rounded up a ton of fall recipes to give you some inspiration in the kitchen. Enjoy!

Soon, we will be spending hours in the kitchen cooking recipes for the months of holidays, but its not too late to still enjoy The Best Recipes of Summer!

Summer is a funny time for me. I absolutely love the abundance of fresh produce. One of my most favorite activities in the world is strolling through the farmers market.  Just yesterday I must have spent over $200 just on produce! But, as much as I love those summer flavors, I usually want to be out playing in the sunshine rather than cooking.  Its sort of a catch 22.  My most favorite time to cook is the fall because the days start to get shorter and cooler, the kids are busy with school and soccer, and there’s nothing like a good holiday to motivate you in the kitchen. Well, your kids might be back in school already, but summer ain’t over yet, so take advantage of the abundance of glorious summer produce and make these recipes!

Summer Grilling Recipes

One of the things I look forward to most every summer is cooking outside on the BBQ, so make your backyard your kitchen with these Summer Grilling Recipes!

With every oncoming season, I look forward to things to come. When fall approaches, I look forward to cooler temperatures at night, shorter days, soccer games, and leaves changing. As winter approaches, I can’t wait for the prospect of snow (we don’t always get it in these parts), the holidays, and baking Christmas cookies. As spring approaches, I look forward to every flowering bulb that pops through the ground, finally seeing the sun again, and watching the days get longer by a few minutes each day. But summer? Oh, there are just so many things to love about summer. Sunshine that lasts longer than I can stay awake, hours at the pool with friends, a schedule so jam packed with fun activities and vacations that I savor the days where nothing at all is planned, farmers market, and cooking in our backyard on the barbecue. Summer cooking is so much fun because you don’t add any additional heat to the inside of your house plus you make all of your neighbors jealous by wafting mouthwatering scents from the grill over to their yard. I love cooking everything from kabobs to steaks & ribs to burgers slathered in homemade sauces. Everyone loves a good BBQ, so I decided to share a couple dozen of my favorite grilling recipes!

From red, white, and blue treats to the best summer BBQ food, I'm sharing More than 25 Recipes Perfect for the Fourth of July.

Isn’t the 4th of July great? To me, its not only a time to celebrate this great country of ours, but its also a time to be outside enjoying fireworks as well as good food with friends and family. Its a time for celebration and fun.  I grew up in California and because of potential fire damage, we were not allowed to even play with sparklers. If you didn’t get out to watch the city’s fire works display, you missed out on all the pyrotechnics. Not that I’m in Western Oregon, where its so green that a fire from personal fireworks is highly unlikely, we actually get to enjoy our own small fireworks right in front of our house without having to mess with traffic to see a big show. Neighbors will typically pool their money together and create a big block party that goes well past dark. Considering that we’re normally in bed before 9pm every night, it tends to be an evening where we expect to get a pretty poor night’s rest. But the fun and excitement on the kids’ faces make it all worth it. So celebrate our country, eat good food, and watch the fireworks fly!  Happy Independence Day!

Summer is here! Keep that kitchen cool and indulge in the sweeter side of life while you make More Than 25 No Bake Desserts!

Its officially summer time. That means that most of us are not going to want to turn the oven on, no matter what. Can we use the grill on the back porch? You bet. Can we make lots of delicious side dishes like potato salad and healthy green salads with a fresh homemade vinaigrette? Of course. But what about dessert? We all love our cakes and cobblers and cheesecakes, but they require the oven which means that our kitchens heat up when we don’t want them to. Never fail – no bake desserts are here to save summer!  No bake desserts include anything from ice creams to “fake” cheesecakes (i.e. no egg which means no oven). These heavenly treats are cool, creamy, delicious, and perfect for June, July, and August. Don’t spend the summer wasting your calories on store bought treats. Enjoy your own no bake desserts!
